Peace Week began in October 2001 when Brandon Lee Wolff of SAVE R US (Students Against Violence Everywhere Are Us - www.saverusinternational.org) planned a two-day Peace Festival to promote peace and nonviolence involving 3000 students at Council Rock High School. The concept of a peace festival was recreated in an elementary school peace festival in 2002 and further expanded into Peace Week 2003 encompassing the entire Council Rock School District.

The following year, Brandon teamed with Natalie Kaye, formerly of CB Cares, to expand the week into Peace Week Bucks County 2004, which involved 13 different community organizations and school districts throughout the county. Under Natalie's leadership, the planning committee expanded and involved even more community organizations in the planning of Peace Week Bucks County in 2005 and 2006.

Under Brandon's leadership, a spin-off of Peace Week Bucks County, TRI-CO Peace Week, also occurred in 2005 and 2006 involving three colleges ("tri-co"): Swarthmore, Haverford and Bryn Mawr.

In 2007, both peace weeks will occur simultaneously during the first week of April.
